Kelci Baez grew up as an obese child. The criticism and bullying led her to have an unhealthy and guilt driven relationship with food. As an adult Kelci took a health and fitness course that lead her to become curious in the world of nutrition.  Through research she lost over 60 pounds by adapting different lifestyle changes. After her weight loss, Kelci had family and friends asking for advice on how to lose weight. While trying to help, she noticed what worked for her did not work for others. She realized that in order to truly help people, she would need to become formally educated in the field of nutrition and dietetics.

Kelci plans to become a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Critical Care Nutrition (CSPCC).

KELCI LOVES FAMILY NUTRITION

During her first week of undergrad at Texas State University Kelci discovered that she was pregnant. The Unique lived experience of being pregnant and becoming a mother while studying nutrition ignited a passion. Kelci also personally knows the struggle of being busy and still needing to feed a family. Providing helpful evidence based nutrition knowledge is why Kelci launched Intrinsically Nourished in July 2020.

KELCI ENCOURAGES CULTURE

As a military spouse, Kelci has had the opportunity to be submerged into various cultures that she was not born into. Throughout her world travels she has enjoyed getting to know local people and their traditional foods. Food can be linked with identity, culture and emotions. This is why Kelci encourage adventurous eating as well as eating foods that are  traditional-to-you. Life is too short and food is too good to think you have to limit foods.
